CElPIP:

The full abbreviation of CELPIP is Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program. CELPIP is conducted to check English language proficiency. The candidate has to prove his/her proficiency in the English language through the CELPIP Test. This test assesses candidates precisely in different phases, like, understanding and interpreting newscasts, communicating with friends and co-workers, responding to emails and other written materials and responding to difficult situations.

The Celpip Test has 2 variations, one is The CELPIP-General Exam and the second is the CELPIP-General LS Exam. The CELPIP-General Exam assesses Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking abilities. Along with this, CELPIP Test is being approved by IRCC, IRCC is Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada. CElPIP vs IELTS :

One of the most common questions asked about CELPIP is "What is the difference between CELPIP and IELTS?"
Let me make this clear, as far as difficulty level is concerned both are equally difficult for those who found IELTS difficult to crack. Both the tests are having four sections as Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening. IELTS is having two versions now, one is IELTS and another one is IELTS CD. Earlier IELTS was only paper based test but after the launch of computer based CELPIP, newer version of IELTS was launched recently.

CELPIP is 100% Canadian test which offers two versions, one is CELPIP General which if for those applying for Canadian PR and CELPIP General LS, which is for Canadian Citizenship. This test is having only two sections 'L' Listening and 'S' Speaking section.

IRCC i.e Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada approves and accepts the CELPIP Test. RECBC(Real Estate Council of British Columbia) and ICCRC(Immigration Consultants of Canada Regulatory Council) are the other organizations that assess a candidate’s Listening and Speaking proficiency as a proof of English language proficiency for the Canadian PR or Citizenship and are being accepted by IRCC.

The Citizen and Immigration Canada accepts both of these tests, if we talk about which test is easy to attempt, then, Celpip-General-LS is easier and cheaper to attempt.

What is the difference between CELPIP-General and CELPIP-General LS?

CELPIP-General Test is for those people who apply for permanent resident status in Canada under Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), the Start-up Visa Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), Canadian Experience Class (CEC) programs and need a proof of English Language Skills.

CELPIP-General LS is for those people who apply for Canadian Citizenship and need proof of English Speaking and Listening Proficiency. IRCC accepts the CELPIP-General LS Test.

If my evaluation is not correct, then can I apply for my re-evaluation?

Yes, definitely, you can apply for your test re-evaluation of some components of your CELPIP Test within 6 weeks of the test date. But one thing you need to keep in mind is that you have to pay a re-evaluation fee at the time of submitting an application.
The amount of the re-evaluation fee depends on the components of your CELPIP test that you want to re-evaluate.
Once the re-evaluation request has been submitted, then you can’t cancel or change the request. To submit a request for re-evaluation, you have to sign in to your CELPIP Account.

What is the minimum age requirement for CELPIP?

If the applicant is in the age group of 14 and 17 years, then he/she can register for the CELPIP Test and the applicant can register for the CELPIP-General LS Test. One important change is that, if the applicant is between the age group of 14 and 64, the applicant meets the basic requirements for language test in Listening and Speaking in English or French.

Can I bring my Driving License/Student ID card as a proof of my identity to appear in my CELPIP Test?

No, you cannot bring a driving license and student ID cards as a proof of identity to appear in the CELPIP Test. Below is the list of acceptable documents:
