Writing Task 1: Writing an Email

Read the following information.

You recently made reservations for dinner at a very famous and expensive restaurant in town. However, the meal and the service were terrible. The restaurant manager was not available to solve the problem, so you left without a resolution.

Write an email to the restaurant's manager in about 150-200 words. Your email should do the following things:

  • State what problems you had with the food you ordered.
  • Complain about the service.
  • Describe how you want the restaurant to resolve the problem to your satisfaction.

Manager, My name is Nikki, and I'm a frequent customer of your Silver Restaurant. I had the reservation to celebrate my daughter's birthday with his friends on 25th Sept - at 6 PM. I ordered a Barbie Birthday cake for my girl since she is an all-time idol. Unfortunately, on the event day, the cake we received was with a superman, not a barbie. So, I immediately informed the server about the mistake and to see if there was anything that could be done to fix it. I even said I don't mind paying the extra costs if needed. However, your team declined any of my requests, and they were not cooperating at all. They said they are busy now, so they can't make any last-minute changes. We had a very unpleasant moment during our special day at the restaurant you manage. May I request to fix this by getting us the new cake with the barbie design we ordered?
