Writing Task 1: Writing an Email

Read the following information.

You had recently ordered a book, online from a bookseller. The book sent by him was not the latest edition, even though you had paid the money according to the latest edited version.

Write an email to the bookseller in about 150-200 words. Your email should do the following things:

  • Complain about the service of the online site
  • State about the urgency for the latest edition

Hi Bookseller, My name is Thomas. I am writing this email to bring your attention to the recent order of a book I purchased from your website. The book that I received was not the latest edition I paid. It has caused a lot of stress on my entire family and me. Let me explain to you in more detail. I visited your website last week for the latest book I am interested in buying for my upcoming final examination titled "Foundation of Biostatistics," sixth edition, which costs $600. Upon the text-book arrival, it was the second edition that I received on my address, and it does comprise the content I am looking for my exam preparation. I would like to request your company to send me the title as mentioned above and edition to my mailing address. If I did not get the book next week, I would have no cause but to escalate this situation to the head office. Sincerely, Thomas
