Writing Task 1: Writing an Email

Read the following information.

You had recently ordered a book, online from a bookseller. The book sent by him was not the latest edition, even though you had paid the money according to the latest edition version.

Write an email to the bookseller in about 150-200 words. Your email should do the following things:

  • Complain about service of the online site
  • State about the urgency for the latest edition

Dear Sir or Madam I am writing to you to express my concern regarding recent online order bearing number #XX7126 from your website. I am Casey Choi a mathematics major from Pembroke University. I recently placed an online order for Advanced Calculus 3rd edition by Stephen Hawk on 18th May. I purchased the book as it was mentioned as the latest edition in the description. It even costed more than the last edition. I paid the full amount and was notified that I will be receiving it in 3 days. I was happy to receive the book on time but I am utterly disappointed to find out it is not what I ordered. I have a test coming up in 5 days and I really need the latest edition to prepare. This is the main reason why I ordered the latest edited version. As a solution, and because I am a regular customer, I am hoping that you will send me the correct order by tomorrow. Otherwise, I would like to cancel my order and send you the wrong book back to you. Thank you for kind attention and I am hopeful that action will be taken soon. Regards Ala
