Writing Task 1: Writing an Email

Read the following information.

You had recently ordered a book, online from a bookseller. The book sent by him was not the latest edition, even though you had paid the money according to the latest edition version.

Write an email to the bookseller in about 150-200 words. Your email should do the following things:

  • Complain about service of the online site
  • State about the urgency for the latest edition

Dear Seller, I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with an online purchase I made recently on 10th August 2020. I purchased a Disney Princess Belle costume for my two-year-old daughter. As my daughter is a big fan of Belle from The Beauty and The Beast, I browsed the internet for an apt costume and found your Belle dress exquisite and captivating. While I went through the product specifications, I found that the cloth material was made of Satin with a cotton lining, which will be comfortable on my toddler. The Dress is also decorated with crystal beads and of mustard color. Unfortunately, the final product which I received yesterday was utterly disappointed and different from your description. The Dress was made of Polyester with no lining, and the beads are made up of cheap plastic. In addition to that, I have received the wrong size! Altogether, the Dress was dull and not fit for my little princess. As compensation, I would greatly appreciate if you can send a replacement matching your product specification as my daughter loves the Dress. Hope to hear from you. Regards Maria
