Writing Task 2: Responding to Survey Questions
Read the following information.
You live in a small town of 10,000 people. A large green area in the centre of town is undeveloped. The city has sent out an opinion survey to see what residents would like to have built in that area.
Option A: Shopping Complex: This shopping mall would include restaurants, a large supermarket, and a movie theatre.
City Development Survey :
Option B: Recreational Park: This park would include a sports complex, a large green area, and a small petting zoo.
To whom it may concern, I think a shopping complex would be a better choice. Even though our town does need a recreational park, the shopping complex would offer more benefits to the residents in the larger green area. The first benefit of the shopping complex is that it will open restaurants, supermarkets and a movie theatre. It will be beneficial to the residents to have this kind of facilities as It has already in the least amount in our town. The other benefits are household stuff, essential daily life things and entertainment facilities will be avail by residents. As we know our town is too small and there are no such facilities easily available, people have to travel to get the necessary things. For example, our neighbours are very old, around the mid-eighties, and it is challenging to drive a car at this age. Moreover, residents would also get entertainment if movie theatres are there in our town. Considering these benefits, I believe a shopping complex would be a better choice. All the residents would be overjoyed. Again, this is my personal opinion, but I will support whatever decision is made. Thank you for giving me a chance to provide input on this survey. Kind Regards, Tony
