Writing Task 2: Responding to Survey Questions
Read the following information.
You live in a small city. City administration is planning to allocate funds for two possible projects.
Your City is funding ONE of the given projects:
Option A: Bike Lanes: Planning to build new separate lanes for bikersOption B: Renovate gym: Planning to add a swimming pool and spa centre in an existing gym
Personally, I think building new separate lanes for bikers would be a better choice because of several reasons. Firstly, nowadays so many people like cycling around the city and it would benefit all those people. As a biker too, I consider that another great benefit for bikers is that with separate lanes the people will feel safer than before because cycling in the common traffic is sometimes more dangerous and this could cause more accidents with them. Even though this project will benefit just a group of people I think our small city will be more organized if the separate lanes are built and I believe it would motivate more new people to do exercises like cycling. I think adding a swimming pool in the gym is a great idea for entertainment, but the city government needs to focus first on the traffic problems in the city. Again, this is my personal opinion and my beliefs, but I will support whatever the city decides to do. I really appreciate the opportunity to provide input on this issue.
