Writing Task 1: Writing an Email

Read the following information.

You recently made reservations for dinner at a very famous and expensive restaurant in town. However, the meal and the service were terrible. The restaurant manager was not available to solve the problem, so you left without a resolution.

Write an email to the restaurant's manager in about 150-200 words. Your email should do the following things:

  • State what problems you had with the food you ordered.
  • Complain about the service.
  • Describe how you want the restaurant to resolve the problem to your satisfaction.

Hello, My name is Thomas. I read about your restaurant, and it is well-known and popular in Toronto. Due to this, I made a reservation to treat my mother to dinner on mother's day. However, I am highly disappointed at the service received from the employee, including the meal. I ordered rice, soup, steak, and my mother order steak with fries, but the food tasted unfresh. We also specified that our steak should be well-done, but instead, we received a rarely done steak. I called the attention of an employee name Vic to this, but he walked away saying that was what we ordered. This is so disrespectful and does not speak well of your establishment. I asked another employee for the manager, and unfortunately, you were unavailable at this time. It will be great if my mother can be invited and treated better than the last time since I wanted her to feel special on mother's day, but she left dissatisfied. I was hoping to hear from you soon and have this resolved. Regards Thomas
