Writing Task 1: Writing an Email

Read the following information.

You are a resident of a large colony. You found a gold chain in the colony compound. You are willing to find the owner of the chain and therefore want the help of the authority.

Write a letter to the Manager of the colony in about 150-200 words. Your email should do the following things:

  • Give a description of the chain and the place where you found it,
  • Ask help from Secretary of the colony in tracing the owner.

Dear Manager, I am Tony, a resident of Prairie Shores on 2800 South King Drive. I am writing this email to inform you about the jewellery I found in the building premises to see this precious item's possessor. While returning from work yesterday evening, I found a gold chain in the parking lot near a red Honda Civic car ABZ 826. It is a golden chain with rhodium polish. It has a heart-shaped pendant with letters "A" and "R" engraved in it with white stones. The jewel looks very expensive to me, and I believe we must find the owner as soon as possible so that the item can be handed back in safe hands. We can send an email to all the residents alerting them about the lost commodity so that its owner can be informed about it. It will be of great help if you as the secretary of the society can help me tracing the individual who owns this chain. Thank you, and I am looking forward to your assistance. Kind regards, Tony
