Writing Task 2: Responding to Survey Questions
Read the following information.
Hostel management has decided to upgrade the security in and around the campus. The management has sent out an opinion survey to see what residents would like to have as new security measure.
You are residing in a College hostel :
Option A: New HD Night Vision Cameras covering the area around the hostel.
Option B: Installing biometric locks on the doors.
To Whom it may concern. I think installing modern locks on the doors would be a better choice. Even though security cameras also have good benefits, I believe biometric locks would be more effective in keeping customers safe. The problem with security cameras is that they do not prevent a crime. If a thief steals a bike, the camera footage might help polices to track the perpetrator, but most of the crimes go unsolved. By the time police would view the footage, the criminal would be long gone. On the other hand, biometric locks would physically prevent stealing any valuables from the thief. These locks would have modern technology. If any unknown people enter our hotel premises, it will ring the emergency alarms. This way, our security team would receive the intimation; we can take necessary actions within no time. All the employees and customers will be safe and secure. Again, these are my personal beliefs, but I will support whatever management decides to do. Thank you for giving me a chance to provide input on this issue. Regards Felix.
