Writing Task 1: Writing an Email

Read the following information.

You recently made an online purchase and the product was not the same as the description on the website.

Write an email to the website support department in about 150-200 words. Your email should do the following things:

  • What you purchased and when.
  • Exactly how it is different from the website description.
  • How you would like the company to fix the problem.

Dear sir/madam, I would like to bring to your attention the Hamiton Bay set of ceramic serving dishes on sale on your Canadian Walmart online store. I am highly disappointed with the product I received because it was totally different in colour and sizes. I purchased the yellow set which was described online as a set which consisted of 3 oval dishes with lids in 3 sizes. The sizes of the dishes were 10, 12 and 14 inches in diameter. Unfortunately, I received a completely different set in both colour and shape. What I received was a brown set of square dishes of which the sizes were 6, 8 and 10 inches respectively. I would appreciate it if you could send the initial order I paid for. Peradventure you don't have any more in stock I would like to request a full refund for the items and shipping cost.
