Writing Task 2: Responding to Survey Questions

Read the following information.

A local NGO working for the betterment of school-going kids, especially focusing on reducing the stress level in the new generation has sent out an opinion survey to see what people think about the presence of multimedia gadgets in house.

NGO conducting a survey:

Option A: Kids should have no access to gadgets like smartphones or iPad etc.
Option B: Kids should be encouraged to read books in their free time.

I believe children should be refrained from accessing smartphones and other multimedia gadgets. Even though reading books would increase a child's intellectual ability, banning smart devices would offer more practical benefits to children of our society. To start with, the main disadvantages of smartphones is the adverse effects it has on children's health. To illustrate this, the excess use of multimedia gadgets causes many health issues like stress, memory weakening, and even brain damage in severe cases. For example, when an elementary school at Calgary banned electronic gadgets, there was a 20 percent improvement in student's performance. I expect the same would happen here. Another reason why multimedia devices should be banned is because of the exposure to adult content. If a kid is using the internet, we cannot get a hold on what websites he accesses. As a result, sometimes, they trapped themselves in dangerous situations. For example, when the PubG game was launched, it took away many children's life. Considering these reasons, I think children should have no access to smart gadgets. Parents would be relaxed knowing their children will no longer be affected by intelligent devices. Again, these are my personal beliefs, but I will support whatever the management decides to do. I appreciate the opportunity to provide input on this issue.
