Writing Task 1: Writing an Email

Read the following information.

You recently travelled to Toronto by local airline. You had an unsatisfactory experience at the airport.

Write an email to the manager of the airport in about 150-200 words. Your email should do the following things:

  • Provide details of your flight.
  • Explain the problem that you had.

Dear Manager, It's Jenny here, writing this email connected with a recent incident at the airport with your airline counter staff. My flight details are ( flight no 762, from Ottawa to Toronto on 25th November 2019). Your counter staff told me that the flight is overbooked. Hence I cannot travel on the 25th. Instead, I would be compensated for it the next day at no cost. This proposition was not acceptable to me, as I had made my reservations a couple of months ago for a practical reason. In addition, I attended an international conference organized by my headquarters, which cannot be missed since I am responsible for all the arrangements. I tried explaining to your staff, but to my utter disappointment, they paid no attention despite my constant efforts, over and above, their behaviour was appalling. Additionally, they brushed me aside to speak to other passengers. This kind of attitude towards customers has been shocking, and I asked them to speak to their supervisor. At this point, I insisted that I need to be put on another flight at any cost. Finally, they managed. It has been a harrowing experience. Regards, Jenny
