Writing Task 1: Writing an Email

Read the following information.

You have bought a new mobile phone and in a few days after purchase it has stopped working. You spoken to the company representative a week ago but the phone has still not been repaired.

Write an email to the Company in about 150-200 words. Your email should do the following things:

  • Introduce yourself
  • Explain the situation
  • Say what action you would like to company to take

Dear manager, I am writing to complain about a phone which I bought from your company's showroom. I am Neel Patel, and I have purchased a Samsung Galaxy Note 20 phone from your company's exclusive store two weeks before. Initially, the phone is working smoothly and without any interruption, but after using the phone in the swimming pool for taking underwater pictures. It seriously damaged its display and the processor, the display became blurry, and the processor runs slowly. Note 20 is the latest phone in the market, and it supposes to work underwater without any disturbance. So, I called the customer care department as my phone still in the warranty period, and they assured me that my phone would be repaired within 2-3 business days. However, it is one week, and neither I got any confirmation email from the customer support department, nor my phone did not fix yet. So, I was very disappointed with your after-sales service; I want my phone to be fixed immediately, or I am demanding the phone's replacement. I also would like to hear an explanation for delaying service. I look forward to hearing from you early reply. Sincerely, Tony
