Writing Task 2: Responding to Survey Questions

Read the following information.

You live in a city where the air pollution has crossed the safety limits . The local administration is planning to make air purifiers compulsory in all the buildings and has sent out an opinion survey to see what residents would like to say on this issue.

Air pollution control Survey:

Option A: Air purifiers should be made compulsory for all buildings.
Option B: Alternative actions should be taken.

To whom it may concern. I believe that air quality decreased in our city form last decade, due to the excessive use of greenhouse gases. Installing the air purifier in all buildings is not a long-term solution to air pollution, so the government should think about alternative solutions. I am enlightening some rationale in this survey to strengthen my choice. Firstly, placing air cleansers at all the buildings is not a permanent solution to polluted air. Additionally, the air purifiers can only clean the air in the premises where it is installed. So, the local authority should know the cause of the air pollution and then try to eliminate that cause to control the air pollution. Air cleaners are not effective because the air cleaners are operated on electricity, and our major source of electricity is the thermal power plant. Hence, if the local authority makes compulsory the air purifiers at buildings that increase coal consumption at the power plant, the air pollution is ultimately increased. Instead of the air purifiers, the government should implement the other possible solution like the authority should provide better public transportation, so residents will use that facility to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. As per my perception, the government should think about the long-term solution rather than the short-term solution. I would appreciate the local authority to listen to my opinion through this survey.
