Writing Task 1: Writing an Email

Read the following information.

You have received a letter from your bank, asking you to acknowledge receipt of a new bank card. However, the card was missing from the envelope.

Write a letter to the bank's head office in about 150-200 words. Your email should do the following things:

  • explain why you are writing.
  • express concern about the missing card.
  • ask them what they intend to do.

To whom it may concern I am writing this email regarding my bank card that I was supposed to have; however, I have lost it for some reason. I am very sorry to say that, but I ask you to cancel this card. Following my prudence principle, I prefer to order a new card and make sure about where it is, then be at risk of a lost card. Again, my apologies for my mistake. Furthermore, I am a customer of this bank for more than ten years, and I appreciate your services and quick responses to my solicitations. Meanwhile, I have no card, but I can go to my branch office and get some cash. My bills are under automatic debits, and I have no concerns about those. Thank you very much for your attention, and I am expecting to have this problem solved as soon as possible. If you need any information, please do not hesitate to contact me. Kind Regards, Mr. Felix
