Writing Task 1: Writing an Email

Read the following information.

You had recently ordered a pair of running shoes, online for an upcoming event. The shoes sent were of different size and color, even though you had paid the money only after selecting the required size and color.

Write an email to the website support department in about 150-200 words. Your email should do the following things:

  • What you purchased and when.
  • Exactly how it is different from the website description.
  • How you would like the company to fix the problem.

Dear Customer Service Manager, I am writing this email to submit a complaint about a pair of running shoes, which I ordered recently on your online site. I bought it for my running competition. This event is going to take place in my school after five days. Without this new pair of running shoes, I will be unable to participate in the competition. I checked with all the local shops, but I didn't find the pair of running shoes I was looking for. After a thorough search, I found this pair of running shoes on your website. This pair of running shoes is very crucial for me as I believe it will help me to win this competition. I want to request you to please have a look into this issue and replace it with a new pair of running shoes with the same color and the size, which I selected initially on your online site.
