Writing Task 1: Writing an Email

Read the following information.

You recently made reservations for dinner at a very famous and expensive restaurant in town. However, the meal and the service were terrible. The restaurant manager was not available to solve the problem, so you left without a resolution.

Write an email to the restaurant's manager in about 150-200 words. Your email should do the following things:

  • State what problems you had with the food you ordered.
  • Complain about the service.
  • Describe how you want the restaurant to resolve the problem to your satisfaction.

Dear Mr Morgan, Last Saturday I took my mother to Bravo to celebrate her birthday. Both of us were impressed by the restaurant's decoration and cleaning, and it caused us a good first impression. However, our opinion started to change when the meal came to us. We have ordered a seafood pasta with one special requirement, without shrimp and pepper, because my mother is allergic to both items. But your staff delivered the meal with those ingredients, and I was highly embarrassed with the situation. In addition to that, after choosing our table, we waited for more than fifteen minutes until the waitress finally comes to us to make our order. Our expectations started to conflict with reality at this point. We observed that the restaurant's staff seemed to be in a hurry and too stressed out. Since the experience was disappointing overall, I would like to request a credit ticket to bring my mother to the restaurant for a free meal. I intend to give my mother a memorable day and give Bravo a second chance, the restaurant I have heard from many excellent feedbacks. I look forward to hearing from you. Regards Mark
