Writing Task 2: Responding to Survey Questions
Read the following information.
Hostel management has decided to upgrade the security in and around the campus. The management has sent out an opinion survey to see what residents would like to have as new security measure.
You are residing in a College hostel :
Option A: New HD Night Vision Cameras covering the area around the hostel.
Option B: Installing biometric locks on the doors.
I appreciate the efforts our management is taking to have better security features in and around the hostel campus. I want to recommend the option to have biometric locks being installed rather than having HD Night Vision Cameras in place for the below-mentioned reasons. Firstly, biometric locks are a better measure for avoiding any trespassing attempts being made by anyone, as one can miss being appearing in front of a camera but cannot enter the premises without having a proper biometric scan. It means having biometric locks a foolproof option. And secondly, if we look at the options from a pricing perspective, having biometric scanners installed is more cost-effective than having the camera set up. Biometric scanning data would also be easier to manage than having to manage all the recording the camera will do. For the reasons as mentioned above, having Biotric installations done is, hands down, a better option than having HD Night Vision Cameras being setup.
