Writing Task 2: Responding to Survey Questions

Read the following information.

Your city traffic department is conducting a survey to bring in revolutionary changes in the traffic management. The department has sent out an opinion survey to see what residents feel about the given options

Traffic Management Survey :

Option A: Department should issue more tickets with heavy plenties.
Option B: Department should Organise traffic awareness programmes on a regular basis.

To Whom it may concern. The recent developments and lifestyle changes have increased the number of private vehicles on the road leading to traffic issue. I appreciate the department's initiative to reinvent traffic management in our city. I firmly believe that issuing more tickets with heavy penalties would help to curb the traffic. Firstly, in this fast-growing era, time is of utmost importance. The road traffic and accidents lead to unnecessary wastage of time wastage and sometimes takes precious lives. As per my experience, the rule-breakers cause these traffic jams and accidents. The frequent and hefty fines will surely help to thwart these intentional or unintentional miss-happenings. Secondly, more tickets would help to generate revenue for the traffic department. This additional amount could be used to strengthen the public transport. The more robust public transport chain will lower the number of private vehicles on the road, which will lower the traffic issues. Considering the above two reasons, I would prefer that our traffic department punish the defaulters more frequently and with heavy penalties. It will help in revolutionizing the traffic management in our city. Regards Tony.
