Writing Task 2: Responding to Survey Questions

Read the following information.

The state government is proposing a new agriculture policy in your state but some organizations are opposing it because they feel, the new policy is against state farmers. Government has sent out an opinion survey to see what residents would like to say on this issue.

New agriculture policy:

Option A: Import cheaper grains and vegetables from other countries.
Option B: Bring in more land under cultivation and support local farmers.

To whom it may concern There are numerous reasons why bringing in more land under cultivation and supporting local farmers is much better than importing cheaper grains and vegetables from other countries; one of the most important is eating healthy products without pesticides. On the one hand, locals’ farmers put a lot of effort into growing different kinds of veggies and fruits. But, on the other hand, many of the products are generally made with healthy pesticides that do not break the percentage of purification and minerals, according to Nom 51. For instance, products provided by local farmers can keep fresh in the fridge for more days than regular products provided by exported companies due to the lower percentage of pesticides in their lands. Moreover, the total cost of the local cultivation can be less expensive. Local products such as land and water can be provided by different local suppliers, which would create more jobs for the residents. To conclude, local farmers, are way much better to produce healthy veggies and fruits without pesticides, plus the lower prices. Regards Tony
