Writing Task 2: Responding to Survey Questions

Read the following information.

You live in a small town of 10,000 people. A large green area in the centre of town is undeveloped. The city has sent out an opinion survey to see what residents would like to have built in that area.

City Development Survey :

Option A: Shopping Complex: This shopping mall would include restaurants, supermarkets, and a movie theatre.
Option B: Recreational Park: This park would include a sports complex, a large green area, and a small petting zoo.

To Whom it may concern. I believe the shopping complex would be a better choice. Even though the recreational park would be suitable for spending spare time, the shopping complex would be an economic boom for our locality. To begin with, a large number of young people are unemployed here, looking for a job. Building a shopping complex would create many job opportunities; for example, they would need people for restaurants, supermarkets, etc. So many people would get a job and be financially solvent. Additionally, different modes of transportation would be available. In our area, we have a few transportation systems. So if a shopping complex built here, different types of transportations would start here. For example, we would get a railway service, more frequent bus service and cab service. Moreover, we don't have a movie theatre in our area so that the shopping complex would fulfil a cinema lover's dream. Additionally, it would bring some recreation for the young generation as well. Again, this is my personal opinion. I will support whatever the city will decide to do. Thanks for allowing me to provide input on this matter. Regards Felix.
