Writing Task 1: Writing an Email

Read the following information.

Recently you visited the Zoological park and had an uncanny experience, as a man died by falling in the tiger’s enclosure. You were not able to do anything at that point but wanted to show your concern for the safety of the visitors.

Write an email to the Director of the Zoological Park in about 150-200 words. Your email should do the following things:

  • Give a description of the incident
  • Complain about the short fencing
  • Show your concern for the safety of the visitors

Dear Sir/ Madam, I am Mike, a resident of the city of Vancouver. I am writing this email to discuss an incident that I recently witnessed when I visited "The Jackson Zoological Park" in Ottawa last week. I visited the Wildlife Park with my wife and kids over the weekend. While we enjoyed the natural beauty of different kinds of animal species on the jungle safari, we came across an unusual occurrence. We saw a man getting killed by accidentally falling into the tiger's fence. We observed that the animal park lacks safety: The material used for securing the animals in the cage is of low quality. Some wild animals were left open without strict observation. The fencing gates installed to secure the required perimeter is of concise length. This incident disheartened me, and it bothers me since I could not do anything at that moment. I am worried about the safety issues of the animal zoo. If the visitors' protection is not considered, then I am afraid that it will affect the reputation of your tourist place. I hope you will look into this matter and try to revise your zoo's safety policies. Kind regards, Mike
