CELPIP Writing Sample Test Task 2: Responding to Survey Questions

Read the following information.

You live in a small town of 10,000 people. A large green area in the centre of town is undeveloped. The city has sent out an opinion survey to see what residents would like to have built-in that area.

City Development Survey :

Option A: Shopping Complex: This shopping mall would include restaurants, a large supermarket, and a movie theatre.
Option B: Recreational Park: This park would include a sports complex, a large green area, and a small petting zoo.

In my view, the recreational park would be a better choice. Even though a shopping complex is also a good option, the recreational park would offer more practical benefits to our society. Firstly, We do not have any sports complex in our town. We have many children in our town but they do not have any sports academy to develop their athletic/sports abilities over here. I know a few children and they go to the next nearby town for their sports training. It will be definitely a good idea to build a sports complex in our town. Secondly, most of our families have pets in our home and they love animals. As of now, we do not have any petting zoo in our town. A large green area along with petting zoo would be a great option for our family members to spend some quality time with various species of animals that are docile enough to touch and feed. Considering these factors, I think Recreational park would be a better option and residents will love this. Again this my personal opinion and I will support whatever the decision is made.
